Bengals Quarterback Suffers Torn Ligament In Wrist

Joe Burrow Out for 2023 Season

Bengals Quarterback Suffers Torn Ligament in Wrist

Cincinnati QB's Recovery Timeline Announced

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will miss the remainder of the 2023 season after suffering a torn ligament in his right wrist during Thursday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The injury occurred in the third quarter of the game, when Burrow was sacked by Ravens linebacker Odafe Oweh. Burrow immediately left the field and did not return.

Burrow underwent an MRI on Friday, which confirmed the torn ligament. He will have surgery to repair the ligament, and the recovery time is expected to be 6-8 weeks. This means that Burrow will miss the rest of the 2023 season, which ends on January 8, 2024.

The Bengals are now 0-2 on the season, and they will have to rely on backup quarterback Brandon Allen for the rest of the year. Allen has not started a game in the NFL since 2019, when he was with the Denver Broncos.
