Lando Norris Wins First Formula 1 Victory in Miami
Historic Day for McLaren and Young British Driver
Norris Triumphs in Dramatic Grand Prix
Lando Norris made history on Sunday, becoming the youngest British Formula 1 driver to win a Grand Prix since Lewis Hamilton in 2008. The 23-year-old McLaren driver claimed victory in the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, delivering a thrilling performance that saw him fend off reigning world champion Max Verstappen.
Norris started the race in fourth place, but quickly moved up the grid, taking the lead on lap 19 when Red Bull's Sergio Perez collided with Carlos Sainz. The young Brit then controlled the pace, maintaining a narrow advantage over Verstappen.
With just a few laps remaining, Norris lost the lead to Verstappen, but a late safety car intervention gave him a chance to recover. Norris made a bold pit stop for fresh tires, while Verstappen stayed out on used rubber. The McLaren driver emerged from the pits with a significant pace advantage, overtaking Verstappen on the penultimate lap to secure the victory.
